A new group of teen book lovers is behind the microphones for the ninth season of the Chowder Chat podcast at Cedar Mill & Bethany Libraries.

The council recorded episode 9.1 on Sept. 14, and the library published it Sept. 24. The 2026 Teen Library Council discussed all-time favorites including the Hunger Games series, Lockwood and Co. and Twilight. Summer picks included Anne of Green Gables, Dungeon Crawler Carl and Strange Case of Jekyll & Hyde.

The Teen Library Council has been running since 2009 and is open to students in grades 6 through 12. Members meet the second Monday of each month from 5 to 6:30 p.m., rotating between the Cedar Mill and Bethany locations. Beyond the podcast, members recommend books, movies and video games to library staff and help plan teen programs. Applications for 2026 have closed; the next window opens in May 2027, according to the library's volunteer page.
