Cedar Mill's fourth annual holiday tree lighting returns to Milltowner Plaza on Sunday, Dec. 6, with sing-alongs, free refreshments and a chance to donate to local causes.
The event runs from 5 to 6 p.m. at the small plaza on the northwest corner of the Milltowner Center, next to Insomnia Coffee, at 12535 NW Cornell Road. The tree lighting itself is set for 5:30 p.m.
Four organizations are co-sponsoring the evening, according to Cedar Mill News: the Cedar Mill Business Association (CMBA), Cedar Mill News, the Cedar Mill Community Library and Milltowner Center.
Local singers will perform before and after the lighting and may lead sing-alongs. CMBA members will hand out free cookies and hot drinks.
Organizers plan to collect donations for several local causes using QR codes on-site. Cash and checks will also be accepted.
The tree will be installed and decorated a few days before the event, but the lights stay off until the gathering.
Parking is available in the library lot after 5 p.m., with limited spots in the shopping center on both levels. The event is outdoors and goes on rain, snow or shine, so bundle up.
