Oak Hills, Bethany, and Cedar Mill residents can meet their neighbors and local law enforcement at National Night Out on Tuesday, August 4, 2026, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. at Evelyn Schiffler Memorial Park in Beaverton.
National Night Out is a nationwide campaign held every first Tuesday in August, organized by the National Association of Town Watch since 1984.
The goal is straightforward: bring police and neighbors together under positive circumstances so communities become safer and more connected. Across the country, participating neighborhoods host block parties, cookouts, safety demonstrations, youth activities, and visits from emergency personnel.
The Beaverton Police Department has participated for several years, according to its official event page.
Specific activities planned for the 2026 gathering at Schiffler Park have not yet been announced. Residents can check beavertonpolice.org/234/National-Night-Out for updates as the date approaches.
Getting there
Evelyn Schiffler Memorial Park is a 10.7-acre site managed by the Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District, located near SW Allen Boulevard with access from SW Bonnie Brae Street, SW Erickson Avenue, or SW Berthold Avenue.
The park has playgrounds, picnic shelters, a paved walking trail, and open sports fields.
