Bethany, Cedar Mill, Oak Hills, and West Haven-Sylvan families can start signing up for fall recreation programs on Saturday, August 8, at 8 a.m., with up to $300 per person in financial aid available for qualifying households.

Tualatin Hills Park & Recreation District announced the registration window on July 20, covering classes, programs, and activities across the district's facilities in eastern Washington County.

Out-of-district registration opens two days later on August 10.

How to register

Online registration at thprd.org is the fastest option. Walk-in registration at open facilities is also available starting August 8 for in-district patrons who prefer in-person assistance. Not all facilities are open to the public, so the district advises checking hours at thprd.org before visiting.

The fall activities guide is available online, with print copies at THPRD facilities.

Financial aid: up to $1,200 for a family of four

The district's Financial Aid Program offers fee waivers of up to $300 per person per year for households whose income falls below the Federal Free Meal Guidelines.

For a family of four, that adds up to $1,200 annually in registration credits.

Financial aid funds are released each registration term and remain available until they run out. If funds are exhausted in a given term, eligible households can access support in the next cycle, according to Cedar Mill News.

Applications are accepted year-round, and once approved, eligibility lasts 12 months.

THPRD has also launched a text service for financial aid updates: residents can text "financialaid" to 833-340-0174.

Bilingual and accessibility support

The district's Centro de Bienvenida provides bilingual staff to assist English Language Learners and people with disabilities in accessing THPRD services. Residents can reach the team at [email protected] or 971-440-9165.
