Bethany-area residents have until Friday, Sept. 4, at noon to submit public comments ahead of a Tualatin Valley Fire & Rescue Civil Service Commission meeting that includes a chair election.
The commission meets Wednesday, Sept. 9, at 3 p.m. via Zoom. It is a separate body from the TVFR Board of Directors, handling personnel-related civil service functions for the fire district that serves Bethany, Cedar Mill, Oak Hills and West Haven-Sylvan.
What's on the agenda
The Sept. 9 meeting includes four items: a consent agenda, a chair election, chief examiner actions and a district update, according to a notice posted on TVFR's website. The notice does not name candidates for the chair position.
The meeting is Zoom-only. Residents can join using Meeting ID 875 6924 7068 and Passcode 493568, or by calling 1-669-900-6833. A view-only livestream will be available on TVFR's YouTube channel.
How to submit public comment
Public comment will be accepted in written, phone-in or virtual format. All submissions must be received by Friday, Sept. 4, at noon.
Residents can email Jeannette Jancola, the listed TVFR contact for the meeting, at [email protected] or call 503-259-1523. Commenters must provide their name, phone number and address.
Context
The commission's previous regular meeting took place Wednesday, June 10, both in person at TVFR's Command and Business Operations Center in Tigard and via Zoom. That session covered a contract renewal recommendation, a rules revision public hearing and organizational health updates.
The Sept. 9 meeting is Zoom-only, with no in-person attendance option listed.
