The Washington County Fair is open and running at Westside Commons in Hillsboro, with five evening and weekend sessions left before it closes Sunday, August 2.
For Bethany, Cedar Mill, and Oak Hills families looking for a summer outing, the 10-day fair at 801 N.E. 34th Ave. offers carnival rides, livestock exhibits, live music, fair food, shopping, and art shows through its final weekend.
Hours and parking
The fair runs 5 p.m. to midnight Wednesday through Wednesday, July 29–31, and 10 a.m. to midnight Saturday, August 1, and Sunday, August 2. On Fridays and weekends, parking costs $10 per vehicle ($15 for oversized), cash only.
TriMet MAX, carpooling, and ride-share services are alternatives to driving, according to the Hillsboro News Times.
Rides and attractions
Butler Amusement is running 32 rides and attractions on the midway, including the Zipper, Ferris wheels, Area 51, Super Slide, and a 20-car Scooter arena.
One-day unlimited ride wristbands cost $36 on weekdays and $41 on weekends, available at self-serve kiosks in the carnival area. Individual ride tickets are also sold.
New to the fair this year: All-Star Stunt Dogs, The Flying Royals trapeze and aerial show, Brad's World Reptiles, Puzzlemania giant games, and Nomad Axe Throwing. Returning daily at the Grove Stage are Molly's Musical Adventure and Hillia Queen of the Rings, a hula hoop performance with audience instruction.

The Oasis Stage features additional live acts spanning country, folk, blues, and instrumentals throughout the fair's final days.
Livestock awards close the fair
Washington County 4-H, FFA, and open class livestock shows ran July 24–26. Awards will be handed out Sunday, August 2, the fair's closing day.
