Westview High's boys soccer team picked up 12 points in the 2026 Oregon 6A preseason coaches poll, landing just outside the top 10.
The Beaverton Valley Times published the poll Thursday, Aug. 27, compiled by OSAAtoday. Westview and Forest Grove (17 points) were the only teams listed under "others receiving significant votes" in the 6A classification.
The Wildcats, who compete in the 6A-2 Metro League, enter the season under new leadership. Colin Arnold took over as head coach in 2026, becoming the fourth head coach in program history. Arnold had been part of the Westview soccer program for 16 years before stepping into the top role, according to the school's athletics page.
Fall sports practices at Westview began Aug. 17.
Who's on top
Beaverton dominated the poll with 135 points and eight first-place votes. Lakeridge (99 points, one first-place vote), Grant (98, two) and Jesuit (96, three) clustered tightly behind. West Linn rounded out the top five with 79 points.

The poll is unofficial. It has no impact on the Oregon School Activities Association's RPI and Colley ratings, which determine playoff seedings.

The Wildcats' Metro League slate will pit them against several ranked opponents, including top-ranked Beaverton and No. 4 Jesuit.
