Bethany-area families have three weeks to complete a handful of tasks before Beaverton School District classes begin Tuesday, August 25.
The district published its official 2026-27 back-to-school guide on Monday, August 3, laying out six action items for families across the district's 52 campuses, including Bethany-area schools like Bethany, Bonny Slope, Cedar Mill, Jacob Wismer, and Oak Hills elementaries and Mountainside High School. Start dates may vary by grade level and school.
Here's what families need to do.
Complete ParentVUE verification before August 25
The Annual Online Verification process is open and must be finished before school starts. Families log in to ParentVUE (not ParentSquare) and select the "Family Updates and New Student Enrollment" tab in the upper-right corner. Anyone who hasn't activated their ParentVUE account or is locked out should contact their child's school directly, not the District Administrative Office.
Apply for fee waivers during verification
While completing verification, families can also apply for student fee waivers or discounts for the 2026-27 year. The district says the application takes less than a minute and may reduce or eliminate eligible student fees.
Watch for bus route emails August 13–18
Families of students eligible for bus transportation will receive an email between Thursday, August 13 and Tuesday, August 18 with route details and instructions for accessing E-Link, the district's tool showing bus stop locations, pick-up times, and drop-off times.
Free breakfast and lunch for every student
Every BSD student will receive one free breakfast and one free lunch each school day this year, regardless of household income. No application is required. The district is providing meals at no cost across all 52 school sites through the Community Eligibility Provision, a federal program that allows high-need districts to serve universal free meals.
Check bell schedules
Bell schedules vary across the district. Families can find current schedules for all BSD schools on the district's back-to-school page.
The bus route emails between August 13 and August 18 are the next concrete milestone before the August 25 first day. Families with questions about vaccination requirements can review our earlier reporting on the BSD vaccination deadline. BSD Superintendent Gustavo Balderas is also holding drop-in sessions near Bethany in August and September.
