Daniel Le Brun, 42, of Cornelius was formally booked into Washington County Jail on Tuesday, Sept. 1, after being discharged from a hospital where he had been held since his Aug. 28 arrest.

Le Brun faces four charges at booking: first-degree attempted murder, first-degree assault, first-degree sex abuse and unlawful use of a weapon, according to the Washington County Sheriff's Office. The Hillsboro News-Times, citing court records, reported Le Brun faces two additional charges: first-degree kidnapping and first-degree unlawful sexual penetration.

The charges are allegations. No arraignment date has been announced.

As we reported Wednesday, the case began the evening of Thursday, Aug. 27, when a juvenile ran to the Cornelius Police Department around 8:30 p.m. and reported an assault near the 1600 block of North Adair Street.

Deputies found Le Brun barricaded inside a business at the Plaza Grande business complex. He was armed with several less-lethal-style guns and knives and refused to surrender. The sheriff's office called in its Tactical Negotiations Team (TNT) and Crisis Negotiations Unit. Deputies used a drone to monitor Le Brun's movements while negotiators tried to reach him.

TNT members took Le Brun into custody around 1 a.m. on Friday, Aug. 28. He was then transported to a hospital after ingesting what the sheriff's office described as a potentially lethal amount of medication.

During the investigation, detectives discovered a concealed room inside the business complex where the alleged crimes took place.

The sheriff's office said detectives are concerned additional victims have not yet been identified. Investigators believe Le Brun had access to children through his affiliation with a memorabilia business at the complex. The Hillsboro News-Times identified the business as Crossroads Gaming and reported that Le Brun frequented the store but did not own or work there.

The agency is urging parents across Washington County to talk with their children about any contact they may have had with Le Brun, whether at the store or elsewhere. Under Oregon House Bill 3273, the sheriff's office released Le Brun's booking photo to help identify any additional criminal activity.
