The Washington County Sheriff's Office is asking the public to help identify possible additional victims of a 30-year-old man indicted on 10 sex abuse charges involving a minor.

Jason Emmanuel Lara-Vazquez allegedly posed as a teenager on Snapchat to contact the victim and had sexual contact with her more than once, according to the Sheriff's Office. The agency's appeal covers all of Washington County, including the Bethany, Cedar Mill and Oak Hills areas.

Deputies responded July 18 to a home near Metzger Park in unincorporated Washington County. A reporting party told deputies he had come home and found an adult man in bed with his minor child. Lara-Vazquez was taken to a hospital that night after a confrontation at the home.

Violent Crimes Unit detectives identified Lara-Vazquez as the suspect.

A Washington County grand jury indicted him Sept. 15 on 10 counts: two counts of second-degree rape, two counts of second-degree sodomy, four counts of first-degree sexual abuse and two counts of second-degree unlawful sexual penetration. All charges are allegations. Lara-Vazquez has not been convicted.

The Vancouver Police Department assisted in arresting Lara-Vazquez on Sept. 24. He was held at the Clark County Jail before being extradited to the Washington County Jail on Thursday, Oct. 8.

The Sheriff's Office released his booking photo on Friday, Oct. 9 under Oregon House Bill 3273 (HB 3273). The law generally restricts agencies from releasing booking photos but allows exceptions when doing so may help identify additional criminal activity.

The Sheriff's Office said detectives believe there may be additional victims. Anyone who has information about Lara-Vazquez or who was contacted by him on Snapchat or other social media should call Violent Crimes Unit detectives at 503-846-2500 and reference case number 50-26-10111.

No arraignment date or next court appearance has been publicly announced.
